Recreating... #4

Hi guys!
First off I wanna say thank you to the people who have taken my survey- and if you haven't yet, go do so! :D
AND NOW FOR ANOTHER RECREATION!
This one turned out really well in my opinion, and I can't wait to see what you guys think! So, let's get started with the original drawing I did!
This drawing I did around late 2014, I think, or whenever Into the Woods came out as a movie. So...there are quite a few problems with it, starting off with her unbalanced features. Her eyes are too far to one side, and that's the biggest problem on her face. Next, her arms are insanely skinny and don't connect where they should, and her chest is just...really funky. And adding onto things being unbalanced, her torso is too far to the right. I also didn't give her a pose, making the drawing pretty blah and not adding any interest.
(See, guys, I used to do the "put the hand behind her back" pose before I knew how to do hands well! XD)
Now here is the finished product!
*squeals*
I think she looks a billion times better, and super pretty! I always have a fun time trying to take the shapes I used in the original drawing and incorporating them in the improved image. I added a necklace and a headband to her outfit, and I think it makes it look a lot more pretty! :D
The only problem I have is that her eyes are once again just a tiny bit unbalanced, but it's still a huge improvement and I can overlook it. :D
What do you guys think? :) I remember in the comments in my previous recreation, some people liked the original better, so tell me if you like the "before" better than the "after". :) Although I don't think there's anything up for debate really... XD

P.S. Expect a new hermit post coming soon, I need to take some pictures and work out the details, but I have an idea. XD

Recreating... #3

Hiya, loyal followers and people that don't follow my blog, but stalk loyally...
I've got a new recreations for you!!
*applause* *confetti* *uhhhh...more...celebration...?*
I love doing these, it's so cool to see what I can do better now (and what has remained the same)! Let's get straight on into this recreation!
This is the character that I have wished to recreate. Now, looking at her, you might think that "Oh, from the expression on her face, she looks a little mischievous, but mostly pretty and nice."
Well, when I drew this a year or two ago, I hadn't meant for that...at all...I was drawing her to be a villain! But you can't see that, which is the reasoning behind me redrawing her.
I mean, look at her epic black magic and red tipped wings and tell me she doesn't have potential to be a pretty awesome villain?;)
I didn't have the chance to take a picture as I was drawing the new version because it was nighttime, and I didn't want the pictures to be all dark and yellow and-- *throws up*
So, without further ado, here is the brand new, recreated version of this villain---
Just looking at this drawing, I see so many things I've changed with! First off, look at how her expression is a lot clearer with her evil intent (although she's still beautiful and doesn't look maniacal...;)), but the main thing I see that's different with my technique and style is the realism I have now!
In my original drawing, my woman is a bobble head! And the way her body is angled is awkward...XD It's just so cool to look back and see what's changed... *sigh* I know I've said that before! LOL!
There were some things that I changed concerning the drawing, such as I got rid of the blue in her hair and outfit (I'm still not totally sure if that was a good thing or not), I tweaked her pose a bit, and I also changed her outfit somewhat. I think I like it a lot more than the original.;)
But what's your opinions? Do you like the original or the recreated version better?:)
-Emma-
P.S. Since the book I'm working on for NaNo has winged characters in it, this woman totally inspired a new story in that same world I made for NaNo....XD But I am much too far along in planning and NaNo is much too close for me to change anything... LOL!XD

Recreating... #2

Hi everyone!
I made a post like this before, where I went through old sketchbooks, picked a drawing I like but was pretty bad and recreate it with all of the skill I have now! These are really fun to do, and I hope you all like these posts as much as I do!:)
This was the original drawing I started with. It's of a girl at a library who finds a magical, glowing book.;) You can obviously see some problems, such as the phantom book that is FLOATING and how the girl has very off centered facial parts.;)
In the stages of recreation...

And finally, she's finished! Isn't she so cute?:)
It's so cool to see what I can do better now! It's really fun to do these.:) I hope you liked the recreation!:)

Recreating...

Hi everyone!
I've had this idea for a while now and today I finally did it!:)
I liked some of my old drawings I did when I was younger, but of course they aren't as good as I could make them now, so I thought I would recreate my old drawings, putting as much skill as I have now into them!:)
Does anyone remember her? She was my first ever villain!:) She was fun to draw and stretched my creative muscles, but you can clearly see some discrepancies, such as her off-center chin and her chest.;)
I got to work on recreating her, and it was so much fun!:)
I used the old drawing as a "guide" to her face and outfit and such, but I had to change some things, such as her nose because the original's nose was just a curved line.;)
Her shading was so much fun!
Slowly but surely, my character became creepier and creepier....
Until finally, she was done!! I really had fun recreating her, because I got to not only fix problems, but I got to see which aspects of my drawing I have improved and what have stayed the same.:)
I hope you liked this post, would you like to see more recreations?:)
